Ahhh, there is nothing better than family, fun and perhaps some adult beverages. Although we stayed in town, we had a relaxing staycation…and with kids, staycations are just easier! Here are some photos of the weekend – pool time at friends, coordinating smocked dresses (what’s more Patriotic than that?!) and whipping up a batch of frose while drinking a mule (holiday behavior!):
Super easy recipe for frose- freeze a bottle of Rose (Pinot Noir blend) in a Ziploc for at least 6 hours. Make strawberry syrup by boiling 2 cups of strawberries and 1/2 cup of sugar. Turn off heat and let sit for 20-30 min. Strain and regrigerate. Mix frozen Rose, 1/2 cup of strawberry syrup, juice from 1 lemon and a 1/2 cup of ice cubes. You can refreeze once blended, but I prefer it as is- slushy but still easy to drink. And let’s be honest, I can’t wait any longer to drink it!
